JUPITER, Fla. • At one point during his bullpen session Friday morning at the Cardinals’ spring training complex, Adam Wainwright does what Adam Wainwright is known to do and spun a curve to an unsuspecting catcher, Carson Kelly.
“Just to show you I’ve still go it,” the starter said.
Wainwright and the other early ‘birds continued the informal workouts that have been happing at Roger Dean Stadium’s back fields for the past several weeks. The Cardinals’ veteran righthander was one of the handful of pitchers to throw a bullpen session Friday, followed by Sam Tuivailala and fellow starter Luke Weaver.
