Wacha speeds through two innings vs. Twins

FORT MYERS, Fla. • It didn't take Michael Wacha long to get through two innings of work and he had pitches left over by the time he got that sixth out.

Wacha threw two innings against the Minnesota Twins this afternoon at Hammond Field, and he needed only 28 pitches to complete the assignment. That put him shy of the usual target for a starter in his first appearance of spring this year. Wacha allowed two hits and a run -- it scored on a double play ball -- and he struck out a batter.

Of his 28 pitches, 19 were strikes.
