A chance to move into second place in the National League Central instead turned into an all too familiar feeling for these Cardinals: a loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Cardinals lost Sunday's series finale 10-5 at Busch Stadium, the second of three games they dropped to their division foe. The Cardinals (16-16) are now 1-5 against the Pirates (17-14) this season and 2-7 against the Pirates and Chicago Cubs.
Brandon Moss gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the third and starter Michael Wacha cruised until until the Pirates' three-run fifth inning that featured John Jaso's two-run homer.
