Michael Wacha has not had his best stuff Tuesday night and is struggling with his efficiency.
The right-hander has allowed the leadoff man to reach base in each of the first three innings, as third baseman Logan Forsythe singled in the first and walked in the third, while second baseman Chase Utley tripled in the second.
As a result, Wacha has given up four runs in his three innings of work so far. He's needed 77 pitches to navigate the early turbulence, and the Cardinals trail 4-3 at the middle of the third. Additionally, Wacha has reached a full count five times in the early goings, four of which came in the third frame.
