MILWAUKEE • The Cardinals had three leadoff doubles in the first three innings Saturday at Miller Park. Two were by Greg Garcia and the other by Yadier Molina. None of those two-base hits amounted to anything.
Succeeding batsmen managed to go nothing for eight with men in scoring position in that time, with the latest misfire being Jedd Gyorko striking out with runners at first and third and one out in the third and then Stephen Piscotty grounding out, leaving the Milwaukee Brewers still ahead of the Cardinals 1-0.
