Among some of the other little rumors that have been shuffled about this offseason there have been whispers of negotiations with Paul Goldschmidt for a contract extension. It was certainly something that makes sense for both parties; the Cardinals have long been known to make trades for players they would want to offer longer contracts to and Goldschmidt is an excellent player in the final year of his current contract. It just makes sense, though generally in the past these kinds of deals seem to get done during the season or at its conclusion.
