One of the more interesting storylines of this offseason has been whether or not Kris Bryant will remain with the Cubs in 2021. For a while it looked like the answer might be yes. After struggling in 2020 Bryant’s trade value is probably near a career-low and it might make more sense for the Cubs to hold on to their young third baseman into the season.
Or maybe not. The rumors are the Mets, who just completed a deal with Cleveland for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco, might be looking into acquiring Bryant too, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today:
Meanwhile, the Mets still are engaged with free-agent closer Liam Hendriks and center fielder George Springer, and have had trade talks with the Chicago Cubs for third baseman Kris Bryant.
