It has been much discussed, on this very website even, whether or not Adam Wainwright will return to the Cardinals, if he even returns to baseball at all. The consensus was that Waino was likely throwing his last innings wearing the Birds on the Bat, but the consensus might be incorrect. Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
Since Wainwright returned from the disabled list and joined the rotation for September the Cardinals have had “general conversations” about his return to the team for 2019, general manager Michael Girsch said.
