JUPITER, Fla. • Newly signed Ruben Tejada will start at shortstop Sunday for the Cardinals, weather permitting, against the Miami Marlins, while Jedd Gyorko, who had spent the last couple of weeks at shortstop, switching over to second base, his natural position. Tejada was signed on Saturday after being released by the New York Mets.
Non-roster outfielder Carlos Peguero, who has a couple of home runs and has hit well all spring, will get the start in right field. Mike Leake, unscored on in six innings in the exhibition season, will be the Cardinals’ starting pitcher, throwing to Yadier Molina.
