JUPITER, Fla. • As minor leaguers took over in droves Sunday, the Cardinals added to their lead in the sixth inning by scoring two runs on four hits, two of them run-scoring singles by Edmundo Sosa and Wilfredo Tovar.
That gave the Cardinals a 7-4 edge over the Miami Marlins with righthander Corey Baker, who will be pitching for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic, getting out of a bases-loaded spot in the top of the sixth with a double play.

Brett Cecil, pitching for another major league team for the first time, allowed back-to-back singles to Miami’s Martin Prado and Christian Yelich in the fourth inning, his first as a Cardinal on Sunday.
