Strauss: Will MLB respond to fan safety issue?

Everyone knows St. Louis has a stadium problem.

Except it’s not that stadium.

To be fair, the problem belongs not only to the Cardinals but to a $9 billion industry secreted behind its anti-trust exemptions, supercilious legalese and questionable concern for those who put themselves at serious risk as part of the cost of attendance.

Major League Baseball is adept at crafting nifty marketing slogans. “This Time it Counts,” “It’s Time for Dodgers Baseball” and, of course, the locally sepia-toned “Where Tradition Meets Today” are staples.

Less known is the more truthful “You’re On Your Own, Folks.
