The St. Louis Cardinals have signed a first basemen. Rejoice, rejoice, oh wait he’s just a minor leaguer?
According to Rotoworld, the Cardinals announced yesterday that they have signed 27 year old Chris Jacobs to a minor league contract. Jacobs is a season removed from hitting .266 with 25 homers with Dodgers A+ affiliate, also posting a .886 OPS in 126 games playing first and DH.
Jacobs never made it above A+ in the Dodgers organization and signed with the Chicago White Sox as a minor league free agent last season, playing at three different levels, but losing his power as he hit just five homers in 86 games at A+, AA, and AAA.
