Week one is officially over, and the Cards are 3-3 on the young season. While it isn’t time to find a ledge and lean over, the concerns aren’t going to move away from many minds this week as the team struggles to not simply produce runs but to execute opportunities. What the heck is going on here? Let’s take a look.
In all three of their losses, the Cards have outhit the other team but fell short on the scoreboard. They are hitting .241 as a team and getting on base 35 percent of the time, but there isn’t a lot of power, at least not consistently.
