It was an old-fashioned slugfest at Hammons Field on Thursday night as the Springfield Cardinals and the visiting Northwest Arkansas Naturals combined for 21 runs and 21 hits. Eight of those 21 hits left the yard. The hometown team came out on top in the 13-8 contest, and Springfield was led by first baseman David Washington.
In the 1st inning, Charlie Tilson singled to center field and stole second base, his 11th steal of the year.
