This afternoon the St. Louis Cardinals placed Kolten Wong on the disabled list and promoted Paul DeJong from Memphis. This comes just six days after the Cardinals activated Wong from the DL with an elbow issue. That move made it possible for the Cardinals to DFA Jhonny Peralta.
In the press release on the injury the Cardinals called the injury a right tricep strain. This opens the door for DeJong to have another opportunity at the major league level. In his last stint, DeJong batted .244 with one home run and four RBIs.
