On the ESPN broadcast Wednesday night, the announcers mentioned the St. Louis Cardinals hadn’t lost a regular-season series since June 2012.
That streak of nearly three years remains intact thanks to a win to close out the month of April.
The Cardinals overcame a shaky start on the mound and downed the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-3, to win three of the four games in this series. St. Louis improved to 15-6 overall and is now 2 1/2 games up on the idle Chicago Cubs.
