CHICAGO • It took one slip on the way to a walk to likely end Bud Norris’ season.
The veteran who spent most of the season as the Cardinals’ closer slipped on a soggy mound in the seventh inning and had a recurring of the hamstring soreness that’s pestered him for at least a month. Norris had to leave Friday’s game — and the walk he permitted led to a run — and manager Mike Shildt suggested it’s unlikely the righthander will appear in the final games of the regular season.
