MILWAUKEE • The Cardinals invited trouble in the sixth inning.
Mark Reynolds got them out of it.
Replacing Matt Adams at first base because Big City is not yet cleared to play a full game in the field as he recovers from a torn quad, Reynolds spun a snazzy double play with the bases loaded to keep the Cardinals and Brewers knotted, 1-1, through six innings.
Carlos Martinez allowed two walks in the inning, and the second one was an intentional walk to Ryan Braun that loaded the bases.
Martinez then faced lefthanded batter Adam Lind and fell behind 3-1 to the masher.
