ST. LOUIS • With Dexter Fowler back in the lineup after convincing himself and the team that he's ready for full-speed action in center field, the Cardinals have quite the pinch-runner and defensive specialist available on the bench in rookie Magneuris Sierra.

In the next week, the Cardinals will have as many as four players begin or continue rehab assignments in the minors, and a fifth player from the 40-man roster could be right behind them. Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak and manager Mike Matheny offered updates on all the returning players could influence the makeup of the bullpen -- and, of course, how long young Sierra remains in the majors.
