Shoulder discomfort keeps Yadi on bench

SAN FRANCISCO -- Initially considered minor, the discomfort in Yadier Molina's right shoulder forced the catcher to the bench for the second consecutive game Sunday.

Francisco Pena started behind the plate for St. Louis in the finale of a four-game set at AT&T Park.

Pain first shot through Molina's shoulder while at the plate on Friday. He felt what Cardinals manager Mike Matheny described as "a zinger" during an at-bat in the sixth inning against Dereck Rodriguez. Molina completed the game, but he sat Saturday as a precaution.
