Former Cardinals player and longtime radio broadcaster Mike Shannon, who will be 77 in July, will further reduce his broadcast schedule and not work any of the team's road games this season.
The news comes on the heels of Shannon telling the Post-Dispatch over the weekend that he will be closing his downtown restaurant, Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood, on Jan. 30.
Shannon, who will be starting his 44th season in the broadcast booth, did fewer than one-third of the road games last year, although he did broadcast in the playoffs.
Shannon was not immediately available for comment.
