A loss in Wednesday’s series finale in Milwaukee ended a six-game winning streak for the Cardinals, who enter Friday with a 73-59 record after winning eight of 10 and 15 of their last 19 games. This weekend, St. Louis will host the final meeting of 2019 with the Cincinnati Reds. The Cardinals are 40-24 at Busch Stadium this season.
Prior to Friday’s game, the Cardinals placed Lane Thomas on the 10-day injured list with a right wrist fracture. Tyler O’Neill was activated and rejoined the 25-man roster.
In Friday’s series opener, Dakota Hudson and Trevor Bauer will toe the rubber.
