That didn't last long. The Cardinals tied the game with Miami at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth and two batters into the seventh, they were down again.
They finished down by two runs as Jonathan Broxton couldn't keep things in check and the Marlins went up 5-3.
Christian Yelich led off with a single and Giancarlo Stanton followed with a double to center. Yelich came all the way around to score and Stanton took third on the throw home. He didn't advance on Derek Dietrich's ground out to second and Don Kelly flew out to medium center, with Stanton sliding in just ahead of Tommy Pham's throw.
