Santana's homer sends Brewers past Cardinals 6-4

Brandon Moss' pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the eighth didn't keep things tied for long.

Brewers leadoff man Domingo Santana sent the Brewers back ahead and on toward a 6-4 win with a two-run homer off closer Trevor Rosenthal in the top of the ninth.

Santana's first homer of the season traveled 440 feet. It scored pinch-hitter Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who walked. And it added to troubling trend the Cardinals displayed here tonight — surrendering runs when they are one out away from ending the inning. Each of the Brewers' six runs came with two outs.

Rosenthal walked another batter after Santana's shot, which led to Seth Maness entering the game.
