JUPITER, Fla. • There is always the possibility of adjustment and injury -- and all of the players on the edge have been duly notified -- but with a week remaining before opening night, the St. Louis Cardinals have settled on their 25-man roster.
This is the earliest in Matheny's tenure the opening-day 25 has been revealed.
"I don't think ever in the past we've said let's hold on and have them tough it out here, sweat it out," manager Mike Matheny said. "That's never been the idea. Other years it's been really difficult to make the decision because we could go a number of different ways.
