CHICAGO • There is, right across the street from Wrigley Field and within easy sight of the visitors' clubhouse, a Starbucks, and it's not unusual for a player or a coach to pop over before a game for a jolt.
They usually don't do it in uniform.
Rookies Marcus Hatley, Miguel Socolovich, and Mitch Harris along with assistant bullpen catcher Kleininger Teran made a run to the coffee shop with more than a dozen orders from teammates Tuesday morning before the first game of a day-night doubleheader against the Cubs. Hatley went around the clubhouse taking orders, though it was not his idea to then get in full uniform before making the trek across the street.
