LOS ANGELES — The Cardinals finally reached the end of their long, disastrous road trip to find themselves in a hole from which few teams have ever resurfaced again to call themselves contenders, and some of the digging they did all on their own.
The Cardinals fueled the Dodgers’ midgame rallies with six walks and a wild pitch to squander the slimmest of leads Sunday and lose 6-3 at Dodger Stadium.
After being swept by the Dodgers, the Cardinals’ return to St. Louis for an off day having gone 2-8 on the three-city road trip and 10-18 in April.
