Mark Reynolds, re-staking his claim to the first-base job the last two nights, ripped a 3-0 pitch for a three-run homer into the center-field greenery as the Cardinals blew open their game with Miami Saturday night. They led 6-2 after six innings at Busch Stadium.
With the Cardinals up only one run, Stephen Piscotty singled for his third hit after Yadier Molina had opened the inning with a single off Marlins lefthander Brad Hand. Kolten Wong flied out but Reynolds, four for six with four runs batted in and three scored the last two nights, sent his 10th homer 413 feet away.
