Reyes rocks in rehab start: 5 innings, 12 K's, 100-mph fastballs

The St. Louis Cardinals sent Reyes to the Chiefs for his second rehab outing as part of his recovery from elbow ligament replacement surgery that knocked him out of the entire 2017 season.

He delivered a stunning outing, with 12 strikeouts on 80 pitches over five innings on the way to a 5-2 win over the Clinton LumberKings, while Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak and 2,341 looked on.

Reyes hit 100 mph on the radar gun three times, and 99 mph three more. Then he closed out the fourth and fifth innings with strikeouts on 81 mph curves.
