That was Cardinals righthander Alex Reyes’ reaction to facing hitters for the first time since May 30 when he threw a batting practice session on Tuesday. On that date last year, after a highly successful rehab run through the minor leagues, Reyes had pitched four scoreless innings at Milwaukee before his body betrayed him again.
But, recovered from a lat strain which required surgery, the 24-year-old Reyes is on a relative fast track this spring, facing hitters ahead of schedule. He felt a little sick during and after the outing and he said, “There’s some improvement that needs to be made.
