Anthony Rendon opened the sixth inning with his 34th home run and Washington and the Cardinals went to the bottom of the seventh inning tied 2-2 at Busch Stadium.
Cardinals starter Dakota Hudson then retired six consecutive batters. The Cardinals were able to chase Stephen Strasburg from the game after five innings but have failed to score since the first inning.
