It wasn’t looking good for the Redbirds early, giving up three runs in the top of the first inning. But through solid pitching through the rest of the game and the bats coming alive, they were able to pull out a 4-3 win to move to 28-26 on the season.
After half an inning, it looked like it was going to be a long night for Redbirds starter Zach Petrick. Petrick gave up three runs in the top half of the first to give the Las Vegas 51s an early 3-0 lead. Greg Garcia would hit an RBI single in the bottom of the second to bring the lead down to 3-1.
