After spending nearly four weeks on the disabled list with a lower back strain, 23 year-old outfielder Randal Grichuk provided the St. Louis Cardinals with a desperately needed offensive presence in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Although he had not played since April 16 during the Cardinals’ first home series, Grichuk collected two hits and nearly drove in the go-ahead run on a controversial seventh inning baserunning mistake from Jason Heyward.
