Rainy loss for Cards vs. Dodgers

It took 2 hours, 20 minutes for the rains to slow enough to start a game Saturday at Busch Stadium. It took Cardinals starter Michael Wacha spending slightly less than two hours defending a one-run lead.

It took 11 pitches for it to come undone.

Four batters after Wacha lost a no-hitter he took into the sixth inning the righthander lost the Cardinals lead. It happened precipitously. Los Angeles catcher Yasmani Grandal’s three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning snapped a 1-1 tie and knocked Wacha from the game. The Dodgers had a 4-1 lead through seven innings.
