After not starting three days in a row, Cardinals rookie Stephen Piscotty will make his first home start at first base against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.
Piscotty, who was called up last week before the Cardinals' series in Chicago, played left field in his first two big-league games. When the Cardinals returned home, he was slated to start at first base Thursday against the Royals, but a stiff neck kept him out of the lineup.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Saturday that the team was trying to ease Piscotty into first base, a position he only recently started getting serious repetitions at while he was with Class AAA Memphis.
