PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. • The Cardinals hit four home runs Saturday in a 14-9 exhibition win over the New York Mets but they were more concerned about someone who was hit.
Before Randal Grichuk bashed a three-run homer in the sixth, homer, Stephen Piscotty was plunked above the left elbow by a pitch and went to the ground. He left the game. Soon, so did Mets pitcher Stolmy Pimentel, ejected by home-plate umpire Angel Hernandez, after Jonathan Rodriguez also was hit by a pitch following Grichuk’s homer.
Piscotty, wearing an arm wrap after the game, headed back to Jupiter, Fla.
