ST. LOUIS • After the Cardinals scratched him from their lineup before yesterday's game against the Royals, rookie Stephen Piscotty will not start in tonight's game against the Atlanta Braves.
Piscotty, who was going to make his home debut Thursday after appearing in two games against the White Sox, was originally slated to play first base and bat eighth. Instead, he sat out with a stiff neck, as he couldn't turn his head comfortably.
Mark Reynolds will take Piscotty's place at first base after Dan Johnson was yesterday's substitute. Piscotty played two games and collected two hits while playing left field against the White Sox.
