PITTSBURGH • The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their starting pitcher, Gerrit Cole, to an injury in the third, and then catcher Francisco Cervilli went out with an apparent left wrist injury while swinging at a Michael Wacha pitch in the fourth inning Friday night at PNC Park.
Wacha pitched well through four innings, giving up just two hits and one run. But the Cardinals still trailed 1-0.
