ATLANTA • When outfielder Tommy Pham was in Class AA, a leadership coach hired by the Cardinals suggested he read a book on successful businesses, “Good to Great,” and it has informed Pham’s pleasantries ever since.
Ask Pham sometime how he’s doing, especially as he heads toward a batting cage a bat in his hand, and he’ll reply, earnestly: “I’m good, trying to be great.”
And then there are days like Sunday.
Pham punctuated his first weekend back in the majors with two home runs, including a 14th-inning jolt that sent the Cardinals to a 6-4 victory and a series sweep of Atlanta.
