FORT MYERS, Fla. • Even during batting practice, Carlos Peguero, one of the non-roster outfielders who has shown the Cardinals such power this spring, could not ignore the enticing, 37-foot wall out there in left field.
From the outside, Boston's Jetblue Park looks like any other spring training ballpark with its white, waving pavilion roofs and concrete walkways with more open spaces that the regular-season ballparks. Once inside, however, Jetblue earns its nickname as Fenway South with a layout that is similar to the ballpark back in the Boston.
That includes a Green Monster.
It's not the wall that they have in Fenway -- this one here is open to allow for seating below the highest part -- but it's packed and its tempting there for any hitters who want to bang extra-bases off of it.
