At the end of the season, the Cardinals announced that Ozuna would see ElAttrache in late October, and the surgery was not an unexpected outcome. Ozuna’s agent, Scott Boras, had said in August that a “clean-up” might be necessary, and he repeated this past weekend that an appointment was forthcoming. Tuesday became available because ElAttrache, the Dodgers’ team physician, did not have to go to Boston when the World Series ended Sunday.
“It’s really incumbent on him to spend this offseason on spending the time to put his shoulder in a position where it can be (stronger),” president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said earlier this month.
