Only the Cardinals’ home crowd had reason to be disappointed in the next series against the Twins.
The Cardinals weren’t even competitive enough to upset anybody other than themselves and their fans while losing 7-1 Tuesday to drop the two-game set by a combined score of 13-1.
Most local fans would have been pleased before the seven-game homestand against the White Sox, Cubs and Twins if they knew the Cardinals would go 5-2.
A 5-2 homestand doesn’t feel quite as good, however, when it’s capped with a two-game losing streak.
“Unfortunately it does take away a little bit only because we put so much focus on the day-to-day and you don’t keep celebrating the ones in the past.
