Opening night cannot get here quickly enough. The World Baseball Classic was a nice and worthy distraction, especially if you love Yadier Molina, but I’d much rather see the Cardinals and the Cubs at sold-out Busch Stadium next Sunday in prime time.
Spring training is essentially over. Now that outfielder Tommy Pham has been optioned to Class AAA Memphis and reliever Matt Bowman and Miguel Socolovich have been informed they’ll make the club, the 25-man roster is set.
Barring injuries.
“Really when you ask about where you want to be in a week, (it) is healthy,” Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak told me Friday evening.
