On the same day Aroldis Chapman donned a Cubs uniform for the first time, Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany was also in Chicago, strolling down the low road of big-time athletics.
Shame on the Cubs for acquiring Chapman, and shame on Delany for leaving just enough wiggle room for his coaches to welcome troublemakers who have been booted from the Big 12, Southeastern Conference, Pac 12 and other conferences.
It’s almost as though Delany didn’t read the reports about the sexual assault scandal that ultimately brought down the president, athletics director and football coach at Baylor University this summer.
