JUPITER, Fla. - Not surprisingly, John Mozeliak’s phone number has been quite popular this week among agents who are still trying to find landing spots for unsigned starting pitchers.
Many have wondered if the Cardinals would rush to add pitching depth after announcing Wednesday that top pitching prospect Alex Reyes would undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
“I’ve heard from most agents that have available pitching,” Mozeliak said Thursday.
Mozeliak’s answer has been consistent, though.
At this point, the Cardinals’ general manager isn’t interested in signing one of the starting pitchers currently available in the thin free agent market.
