This afternoon the Cardinals will take on the Braves in game one of the NLDS as their postseason kicks off. The Cardinals look to add to their National League-leading eleven World Series wins. It all starts today.
Actually though, it all really started on this day in 1926. Per @retrosimba, one of my favorite Twitter accounts:
On this date in 1926, the Cardinals won a World Series game for the first time. Grover Cleveland Alexander pitched a 4-hitter, striking out 10, in the Cardinals' 6-2 win over the Yankees in Game 2. pic.twitter.com/Gr8vned2J8

The Cardinals went on the win that World Series in seven games becoming World Series Champions for the first time in franchise history.
