The Cardinals didn't need long to get even with the Pirates on Tuesday night, though they were delayed a little bit as they waited for a replay review that gave them the tying run.
Jason Heyward was called out at first by umpire Ron Kulpa on the back half of a double play, but just about everyone in the ballpark was pretty sure that Heyward had, in fact, beaten the throw back to first from shortstop Jung Ho Kang. After a 69-second review, Heyward was called safe and the game was tied at 1-1.
Matt Carpenter led off with a single to center and was forced at second by Kolten Wong.
