JUPITER, Fla. • Lance Lynn went on the disabled list last June 12 with a forearm injury and returned a couple of weeks later, having missed just two starts. At the time, general manager John Mozeliak said Lynn probably “could have pitched through” the injury but rest had been deemed more appropriate.
But the arm never got any better. For the remainder of the season, Lynn said he would wake up in the morning with his right hand numb. Since most of the games were night games, he had time to lie on the couch at home and wait for his arm to straighten out if he had to pitch that night.
