Brandon Moss’ fifth-inning double drove in one run and set up another Sunday at Busch Stadium as the Cardinals forged back ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers at 4-2.
With one out, Stephen Piscotty drew Chase Anderson’s fifth walk. Moss doubled against reliever Jacob Barnes into the right-field corner and third-base Chris Maloney waved home Piscotty from first. Right fielder Ramon Flores’ throw to cutoff man Scooter Gennett glanced off the second baseman’s glove as Piscotty scored. Moss made third when first baseman Chris Carter subsequently gathered in the ball and threw high to third.
Jhonny Peralta’s sacrifice fly plated Moss with the second run of the inning.
