MIAMI -- A half-inning after pausing play to accommodate Nelson Cruz's in-game request for a photo with home-plate umpire Joe West, Yadier Molina offered a show-stopping moment of his own in the All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.
Molina crushed a solo homer in the sixth that evened the game at 1 for the National League All-Star team. It was the first home run hit by a Cardinals player in an All-Star Game since 1974, when Reggie Smith went deep, and made Molina, who turns 35 on Thursday, the oldest catcher to homer in a Midsummer Classic.
